The committee studying the Route 9/9H corridor through the Town of Kinderhook has applied for a $50,000.00 grant from the New York State Department of State’s Quality Communities Grant Program.

DECEMBER 15, 2004
Widewaters' supporter appointed Co-Chair to 9/9H corridor committee: One of the newest town Planning Board members now has an augmented role, being chosen by the Town Board to co-chair the committee
looking into the future of Routes 9 and 9H.


The Town Board on Monday unanimously appointed Bob Cramer to head up the
committee with Joanne Gans.


May 14, 2004

The town's 9/9H Corridor Study Committee has hit a snag in its efforts to provide better planning materials, Vecellio said. He said the committee was denied one grant and is considering applying to the DOT for a similar grant.

Vecellio said he doesn't support a moratorium, but he does support a more in-depth traffic study. "I'd like to see as much planning done as possible," he said.


 
April 17, 2004

At the KNGG Board of Directors Meeting it became apparent that at this stage the Corridor Study could not work without a moratorium on all commercial building.  The Board of Directors voted to present a recommendation of a moratorium to the Town Board.

November 13, 2004

The Corridor Study Committee has submitted a grant application to NY State through the Governor's Office of Small Cities. The GOSC has resources to fund 30 grants. . . . The Grant was eventually turned down and the Corridor Study is shelved.
